Particle II

2024

Concrete, foam, Polystyrene sheet

70 x 70 x 15 cm

Particle II is a work, which was created for a larger site-specific spatial intervention - the exhibition titled Not all that persists prevails. The exhibition addressed the architecture of the building of Museum of transitory Art and urban challenges in its surrounding environment.

Particle II is one of the series of sculptures, which in its form references the structure of the column, the central element in the architecture of the glass pavilion. The modernistic column, which ceaselessly holds all of the building’s weight, is with all its meanings, a starting point of the larger spatial intervention. The form of the Particle II evolved in dialogue with the specific site, but now exists independently and shows the traces left of the site it was once made for.
