building of Brut Nortwest, production and performance venue for performing arts in Vienna, is located within the industrial site of the former Vienna Northwest Railway Station and once housed a clothing company, later a beverage dealer's storage, and is today the temporary home for contemporary performative arts. Its imminent demolition will pave the way for a new district development. The group exhibition Exactly as Imagined, which was located in the rehersal rooms of Brut Nortwest, delved into the building’s past and its unsure future.

The site-specific work Only doors know what doors forget deals with the rich history of the building, with elements and materials that have been installed to form it but will soon be demolished and separated again when the new development of the area takes place. The exhibition design, which “excavated” the buildings rooms, revealed, what is behind closed doors and old walls. The sculptural object Only doors know what doors forget took the resulting material - the 5 doors, taken off the hinges - and, for the duration of the exhibition, used it to build a new structure. At the end of the exhibition, the material was returned to its place of origin and reused. In this way, the project not only seeks practical answers to questions of storage but also emphasizes the temporary nature of the building and the never-ending pursuit of creative work that takes place despite the constant uncertainty of the site's future.
